School Tour Video
  • Our historic building, named for the late Senator Paul Wellstone and his wife Sheila, offers students and families a beautiful, sunlit atrium with a full science lab, science and engineering courses, two gymnasiums for both PE and dance classes, and a large library with materials in both English and Spanish.

  • Our vision for Wellstone Elementary is an inclusive environment where diversity is valued and all students are free to be themselves.

  • We focus on the Minnesota K-5 academic standards while collaboratively planning and delivering culturally relevant instruction.

  • Students in our dual Spanish immersion program will learn to read, write, speak and listen in both Spanish and English. In this program, the goal is for every student to become fully bilingual and bi-literate in both Spanish and English.

  • We have performing arts and opportunities for students to perform for their classroom community as well as in assemblies several times each year (when it is safe to gather).

We offer:

  • Pre-K (full-day)

  • Discovery Club (fee-based, off-site)

  • Extended Day for Learning (EDL)

Programs offered:
  • BioSMART (Areas A, B, C, D, E, F)
  • Spanish/English Dual Immersion (Areas A, C, E)
