School Tour Video
  • At Farnsworth, we integrate STEAM (science, technology, engineering, aerospace and math) into all of our core subject areas, as well as music and art.
  • Former students have become scientists, engineers, machinists, pilots, teachers, and other professionals in the STEAM fields.
  • We bring in special guest speakers each year. Many are astronauts, scientists, and people in other exciting fields who share their passion for their jobs and ignite dreams and hopes in the minds of future leaders.
  • We infuse the restorative practice philosophy into our classrooms through community building, social justice content and culturally relevant instruction. In addition, we teach and encourage all of our students to be respectful, responsible and on time.
  • We teach our students how to fly. We have a new state-of-the-art virtual reality (VR) simulator lab. Career exploration classes like coding in multiple languages, robotics building in multiple platforms and computer automated design in all grades.
  • We take students to many amazing places like Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Museum of Flight and Boeing Factory in Seattle, Washington.
  • We offer synchronized enrichment and academic-focused classes working in partnership with Johnson High School, First Covenant Church and other community agencies.
  • Leadership opportunities include student council, Parent Advisory Council and family engagement nights.
  • We offer additional learning and extracurricular activities, including History Day, family engineering night, KidWind Challenge, science capstone and athletics.

We offer:

  • Flipside
  • Extended Day for Learning (EDL)
