Believing that boys and girls learn differently, students at Battle Creek Middle School are taught differently! As a part of the Girls Academy or the Boys Academy, students are in classes by gender and teachers teach the content and curriculum in a way that best meets the needs of girls or boys.
The Battle Creek Hmong Literacy and Culture program is designed to give all students the opportunity to learn Hmong language, culture, and literacy during the school day. Students participate in classes that focus on various aspects of Hmong culture and develop literacy in the Hmong language. The program aims to give students more confidence, cultural understanding, and strong language foundations that will aid learning in other content areas.
Capitol Hill Magnet School is a full-time gifted program for students in grades 1-8. Learners experience a challenging academic program designed to develop content expertise, the skills and methods of disciplinarians, as well as complex, critical and creative thinking.

Highland Park Middle School takes pride in its Spanish Immersion Program, the continuation of the programs at Adams Spanish Immersion Elementary School, Paul & Sheila Wellstone Spanish Dual Immersion Program and Riverview Spanish Dual Immersion Program. Students develop high levels of fluency and literacy in Spanish while meeting all of the standards of the regular St. Paul Public Schools middle school curriculum as well as the academic requirements of the Middle Years Programme of the International Baccaleaureate Programme.

Offering a truly unique educational experience in the Twin Cities, Linwood Monroe Arts Plus provides an arts-infused curriculum for Pre-K through grade 8 students from across St. Paul.
Opened in 1888 in the heart of Saint Anthony Park and named after William Pitt Murray, our school challenges students in Grades 6-8 from across St. Paul to achieve their goals through coursework in life, earth and physical sciences.
Nurturing self-directed learners since 1971, Open World Learning Community (OWL) now serves grades 6-12 in a small-by-design format that respects and celebrates the individuality of our students. Our curriculum, rooted in the Expeditionary Learning model, promotes rigorous and engaging coursework, inquiry-based learning, and a culture that demands and teaches compassion and good citizenship.
Opening September 2013: Parkway is located in the former Parkway Elementary School (newly renovated just for us) in the northeast quadrant of St. Paul, beginning with 6th and 7th grades in 2013 and expanding to 8th grade in 2014. In addition to the core subjects, Parkway will offer vocal and instrumental music, dance, theater, visual arts, world languages, and computer-aided design courses. Classroom spaces are large enough to accommodate interdisciplinary teaching teams and experiential, project-based learning.

Parents and students alike choose Ramsey because of our commitment to developing independent, well-rounded thinkers who are devoted to a liberal arts experience. By incorporating speakers and field trips, education comes alive as teachers infuse experiential learning into the curriculum so students can apply what they are learning to real world situations.
Ramsey Junior High is home to the district middle level immersion program in French. We are working in collaboration with l’Etoile du Nord French Immersion and Central High School to offer students a comfortable transition to middle school and to keep pushing towards a high level of bilingualism.
